Dr. Brittney Hernandez-Stevenson is a native of Muhlenberg County and resident of Greenville, KY. She graduated from Muhlenberg South High School in 2003. Brittney has worked at Madisonville Community College since 2011 and is now the Campus Manager of MCC’s Muhlenberg Campus. She is an advocate for students and serves as an adviser for the Multicultural Student Association (MSA), Representing Excellence through Networking and Empowering Women (RENEW), and Phi Theta Kappa.
In 2007, Dr. Hernandez-Stevenson earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Western Kentucky University, a Master of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University in 2013, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Kentucky University in 2021. Her dissertation was titled “Building Bridges Not Walls: An Exploratory Study of Student Involvement and African American Student Retention at Community Colleges.” She was named Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Woman of Achievement for the state in 2019, was the 2021 recipient of the Muhlenberg County NAACP’s Making a Difference Award, and recipient of the NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) Award of Excellence in 2021.
Dr. Hernandez-Stevenson serves on the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation’s Advisory Council. In addition, Brittney serves as the President of the Muhlenberg NAACP chapter, is the past president of the Muhlenberg County Rotary Club, member of the Hopkins County chapter of KFBPW (Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated’s Hopkinsville Alumnae Chapter and actively serves as Financial Clerk at her church, First Missionary Baptist Church of Greenville.
