Rachel Evitts

Rachel serves as the Program Manager for Ignite and Middle School programs under Muhlenberg Achieves. Designed and implemented by Rachel, Ignite is a program designed for students who have demonstrated a strong work ethic and a desire to achieve success outside of the classroom. Students in the program participate in monthly field trips to local organizations, a soft skills-building program, civic engagement, lunch with mentors, and work and job shadowing opportunities. Rachel also supports other middle school initiatives including college and career exploration tours, with the intent to broaden students’ aspirations through exposure and clear pathways.

Rachel’s passion for helping others achieve success derives from her own educational journey. As a first-generation and non-traditional college student, she understands the barriers that many Muhlenberg Countians face when trying to achieve social mobility. In 2020, Rachel graduated from Madisonville Community College and transferred to Murray State University. There she earned a Bachelor’s in Integrated Studies degree and a Master of Arts in Postsecondary Education Administration. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in P20 and Community Leadership.

Rachel is a dedicated servant to her community. She is a founding member and Chairperson of Muhlenberg County Young Professionals, volunteers with Junior Achievement, is a member of Champions for a Drug-Free Muhlenberg County, and serves on various councils and coalitions. She has participated in several community-based leadership programs such as Leadership Kentucky’s ELEVATE program, the Muhlenberg Civic Leadership Institute, Leadership Hopkins County, and the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange. Rachel also loves serving in her church, traveling with her family, and playing catch with her dog, Okie.
